黒から緑へ:草千里の春 From Black to Green: Kusasenri in Spring
2月に無事終えた野焼きの後、今年はとても寒かったのでなかなか草原が緑になりませんでしたが、草千里にもようやく緑が出てきました。
After the controlled burning in February went smoothly, it stayed really cold this year, so the grasslands took a while to start turning green. But now, Kusasenri is finally showing some fresh greenery.
冬場はお休みしていた乗馬も再開しています。
Horseback riding, which was on pause during the winter, is back up and running too.
草千里から見る阿蘇中岳。今日は噴煙が少なめです。
This is Mount Nakadake as seen from Kusasenri. There’s not much smoke coming from the volcano today.
かつて、牛や馬が放牧されていた名残であるしましまの牛道が草千里の中央の駒立山の東側急斜面によく見えるのもこの時期ならではですよ。
Around this time of year, you can clearly spot the striped cow paths on the steep eastern slope of Mount Komatate in the center of Kusasenri — a reminder of the days when cattle and horses used to graze here.
寒さがやっと緩んだ春の草千里でお散歩をお楽しみください。
Now that the chill is finally letting up, it’s the perfect time to enjoy a nice walk around Kusasenri in the spring air.
